Author Topic: New game for me and my buddies to play  (Read 587 times)

So me and my few school friends have been playing MC and LoL for the past few months and are starting to look for some new games to try, here's the deal.

Has to be free (or low cost in general, don't want to waste money on a game we might not like)
Has to be low-ish graphics (friend doesn't have good comp)
Has to be multi-player (Obvious reasons)

Any suggestions?

Left 4 Dead/L4D2?

If you have Half Life 2, you can get the Synergy mod and play it multiplayer. A friend of mine played through HL2 and EP2 in it and we have a few good memories still. At the beginning of Episode 2, I picked up a rock, hurled it in the air, and positioned myself under it. My friend never saw me throw the rock, so he just saw a rock fall out of the sky and instantly kill me in an explosion of gore. Good times...

You could also try watching the steam sales each day, like I do. When something good looking comes up cheap, I try it out. Scroll down a ways on the main store page and click the specials tab on the game list for a full listing.

These are some pretty strict fields, OP.
Besides that, we really don't know what you or your friend like, so we'll likely just be tossing out random names until we do know.

Your grandmother's rig can run this.

A few that have given me and my friends a lot of entertainment.
Alien versus Predator Classic 2000 - If you enjoy stealth and hit and run competitive multiplayer games, this is for you.
Counter Strike - Tactical multiplayer game.
Garry's mod - If anything, your friend might be able to handle flatgrass.
Sven Co-op - Requires Half Life which means, on top of a fun co-op game, you also get a fun singleplayer game.
Quake 2 - Co-op and Deathmatch.  Good if you prefer both.
Terraria - Read the topic we have for it.
Worms Reloaded - A bit more expensive than the others, but still worth it for it's wacky multiplayer battles.
