and they call me paranoid. no one's liberties are even being taken away in these cases. so many more things to worry about the government then this little thing.
unfortunately there's this little thing called the right to fair trial, that's thoroughly defined in the constitution, and restricts the authoritative force from imprisoning people like that.
It's been ignored several times in our history, though. Especially when we sent all of the Japanese Americans to Internment camps during WW2 without any trial whatsoever.
Not only that, but because the United Kingdom doesn't even have a constitution, you can be sent to jail for 2 years for merely being suspected by your authoritative locals.
