They are similar to the English Fizzers from Swizzels Matlow. In 1949, the brother of the chairman of Swizzels Matlow travelled to the US and established Ce De Candy, Inc. (now known as Smarties Candy Company).
Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smarties
Nestlé Smarties are a colour-varied sugar-coated chocolate confectionery popular primarily in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France and Greece. They have been manufactured since 1937,[1] originally by H.I. Rowntree & Co..

Chocolate Smarties are older than Chalk Smarties.
Chalk Smarties come from Britain from the very same company who still makes them here and made them originally, who I posted up there, who make the chalk lollipops too.
Your American Smarties are an English invention.

Night Fox didn't show them outside of the package, though.
And that's what really matters.

america is the super #1 world sugar HQ, foreign candy is obsolete
no wonder everyone is so fat here

THESE ARE BRITISH, AND THEY ARE NOT M&M'S. SUGAR COATED CHOCOLATE IS NOT THE SAME AS NUTS AT ALL. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT AMERICA. AND ALSO READ IT!

The hell? I already knew what Smarties were even though I live in America. We have both kinds, the chalk ones, and yours. Yes they were both made my the same company, and the chocolate ones did come first. Besides, why are we discussing candy facts?

Also, it seems you think M&M's have nuts in them. Original M&M's are just like your precious Smarties except you can get them with nuts and such.
forgetin' America Basher.
