Author Topic: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, worth the buy? i thought so  (Read 615 times)

I really want a new rpg to play and this seems like the best that I've seen.
I do want something a bit more action-y as I've been looking at the Fable 3 icon on my desktop a lot and deciding that I want to play it, but I don't want to go through the same stuff. I watched Totalbiscuit's videos on KoA:R and he compared it a lot to Fable but some of the things he complained about have turned me away from games before (interface stuff).

Then there's also the fact that I can't play the demo, I get nothing but a black screen unless I pause the game and I see the menu.

something's wrong with your compooper
its a known problem that multiple people have experienced.

aha! I found a fix by making my amd card force anti aliasing on the game

Just another review in the bunch: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/aj/ajsreview/34265-kingdoms-of-amalur

Looks like a pretty spiffy game to me.

does anyone know if wearing heavier armor effects stealth?

also, I just bought the game.
I normally try not to buy games at $60 but I really needed a new game to play.

I had the black screen prob too, I believe you have open menu and turn off AA or something

Edit: didn't read nvm, but on my black screen I had to turn post processing off

my friend is madly in love with this game, and he usually likes good games, so you should try it out.

yeah I read that you either have to disable post processing or force antialiasing.

From what I've played from the demo it's pretty fun but I've heard it's pretty short.
