My apologies that's not exactly what you wanted, but once you bind a key (Ctrl+C maybe) it will set you into walk mode until you press and release your normal walk key.

it does too work
you push your NEW keybind, and that makes you lock into walking UNTIL you push your NORMAL walk key.
it's really stuffty, and for that I apologize.
