Author Topic: Realistic Gun Pack  (Read 3044 times)

Since we don't have an all the way realistic gun pack, can we make something like you have a primary, secondary, melee, and grenades?
Now, I know what your thinking, "Omg, you n00b, we already have this, search before you post you n00B1!11!!!!" BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Have you ever thought about how you have a giant 12 ga. shotgun or minigun or something, then you move to a different oversized weapon, the first one disappears? Well I have, and let me tell you, I hate it. So I was wondering if you could make it so when you switched to another weapon/tool, the one you just had would be put, and shown, on your belt, back, holster, etc. I am basically wishing for the most realistic weapon pack anyone could make, based on real weapons, etc.

Gravity Cat's old weapon pack was the closest you'll get to realistic.
I'm talking about the unreleased version too.

Anyway, this sounds like something that would take a while to animate.
A Twig is pretty good and so is NEkram and bushi, but I don't know who would take the time to script something so tedious like this.
Have to account for-
-realistic ammo count
-switching between ammo types and weapon attachments(latter probably won't happen anytime soon.)
-Bullet entry
-Bleedout

Basically, ARMA 3's combat in Blockland.

All I've got to say after that is don't get your hopes too high for this

I never did, I was just hoping I would get lucky.
Also, I've tried gravity cat's firearms, and everyone tells me they are peices of crap and a waste of datablocks.

Lemme tell you something. Guns are made from Polygons or "Polys". The more Polys, the more processing power you need. More polys = More Lag, basically. The reason we don't have one yet is because it would cause immense lag on the current game engine, TGE 1.3. Gravity Cat's old weapon pack keeps weapons on the back excluding pistols and stays low polys, though, and we could make custom animations to make them go in your belt or whatever.

Darkness, that's exactly what I was thinking. You could get permission from the origibrown town pack maker, then add something like the spaz-12 or RPG-7 from gravity cat's pack, then just script them all to do that.
