Stupid Steam Invalid User ID ticket error.

I can't play insergency without getting some sort of "Invalid Steam User ID Ticket" error. I tried everything it said on the internet when I googled it. And it still didn't work.


So, I went to sed forums, to see if you guys can figure it out.

- Remove clientRegistry.blob and reload steam

OR

- Exit and open Steam

OR

- Exist and open steam as administrator, even if you are administrator

OR

- Reinstall the game/Steam

Those are the general solutions to everything.

Go to ..\Steam\userdata\{yournumber}\config and find localconfig.vdf and rename/delete it and reload steam.

Apparently the last one works.

Possibly, but you'll probably be able to run the game :D

You can always back up the config and restore it.

I get this same problem when trying to play The Ship. I've been able to play previously without a problem, and I have had problems like this during periods of high traffic (sales, large updates, etc.) so I would wait until the day after tomorrow and try again. If the problem isn't resolved, try Corbiere's solutions. They don't seem to work for me, but they may work for you.

In fact, occasionally go here. At the top, you should see a time at which the stats were last updated. If the time is more than 20 to 30 minutes behind, then the servers are handling heavy traffic and rerouting their resources to higher traffic games.
