Author Topic: So, with the shaders, is blockland more CPU vs GPU oriented?  (Read 1095 times)

I have a geforce 550m, and a Core i5. I underclocked my core i5 from 2.3 ghz to 1.6 ghz, (for power and heat reasons).
I was wondering if I should change my i5 back to the default clock to boost my performance?

the shaders are built by pixel so GPU

Does the processor play a role in resolutions around 1920 x 1080?

CPU handles calculations, GPU handles frame buffers (rendering pixels).

The faster your CPU, the more calculations it can do per tick, which in turn lets the GPU do it's job sooner, resulting in faster speeds.

So it's both.

Blockland is very CPU-intensive compared to other games due to the nature of how bricks work.

Unless you're looking to increase performance in huge builds you won't really see a difference

I've been searching dev threads to find out whether the shaders are close to being optimised, any answer on that?

with all the other bugs going on i strongly doubt that they'll be done anytime soon

but they're working on it

I think you meant Roblox, friend.
