I know but what i mean is i downloaded computercraft once on a regular server and everyone that joined needed to download the singleplayer version to so is there a way to make it so you dont have to do that?

no, everyone has to have it.

They need a plugin or something that allows you to do that.

Download Tekkit if you want computer craft and other mods for SMP

Edit: They do it's called forge if I remember correctly but everyone still has to download and install forge.

Edit2: but of course it only works for mods optimized for it.

Thanks that was what I was looking for. Computercraft uses that so that works.
