Studying is good for small things, but in the real world you aren't tested by how much you remember. But if you are going to be a scientist, doctor, cop, lawyer, judge, forget it. Those books are have tons of information that you wont be able to remember completly.

yet people can remember crafting recipies, certain patterns in boss fights, the lyrics of a song, a phone number, a web address, and 100 billion passwords

no. memorization and studying is a great method. you are just lazy.

Cops have to remember all sorts of common laws and codes, lol. Scientists need to memorize equations, because it would be a huge bother to whip out your book or phone or something anytime you want to calculate something.

Since people are so good studying and memorizing stuff then prove it by studying then here is your homework for tonight. Study every page of your phonebook from the cover to the very back then on the Friday you will tell me every phone number that is in the book. Also you can't use the internet or a friend. Copy and pasting will also get you a detention.

Next week we learn about the bullstuff of college.

Studying actually doesn't take too much time unless you have problems remembering
Plus the fact you're seriously over-exaggerating it, you can actually memorize study guides if you read them.

Memorizing is also stupid. What if you are a doctor and someone says this, "Okay you have to diagnose this patient, but you can't look at the book to find out what he has" or being a Lawyer and "Okay you have to prove that this guy is guilty, but you can't look at the book".
This is a problem with many courses.  My honors physics teacher doesn't have us memorize all the equations we use, she always provides them.

She also practically glorifies alternate methods to solving problems as long as 1. the original equation(s) and given variables are listed, 2. all steps are shown at least a bit clearly and 3. the answer is correct, shown and boxed.  Actually, she divides almost all test problems into 5 points. 1 for stating givens, 1 for stating the equation(s) you use, 1 for showing the work and 2 for the answer.

I've never heard of a teacher who starts directly on the bell.

But still I don't think its worth putting you down as late for class even though you are in the classroom just not in your seat, not all people can get to their class in time to get to their seat before the bell y'know?

If you have at least four minute passing time, you can, lol. Takes me about 2 minutes to get from the second floor far North to the first floor far South side of the school
