Author Topic: The Bounds of Memory Loss  (Read 620 times)

I thought this would be a neat thing to discuss.

You know those stories where people have amnesia for a day, doesn't remember anyone and by some dumb luck gets their memory back at the end of the episode and it's like nothing ever happened.

The person usually doesn't know their name or the people around them, yet they are still able to speak - shouldn't they have forgotten to speak? Better yet, if they remembered how to speak, shouldn't they, in some cases I've seen where they didn't know, how to have love, how to drive, or how to perform mathematics?

What are the bounds of memory loss?

I think Memory loss is sort of like losing the "My Documents" folder (Memories of faces, people's names, etc.), but keeping the "System32" folder (Speaking, Moving, Breathing, etc.).

love is an instinct, not an experience/knowledge.

you can know nothing about it yet know you want it.

I'd pay for some good memory loss.
