Author Topic: Music Brick Possible Features  (Read 920 times)

2 new ideas will be discussed.

1. Music Brick Linking

2. Music Brick Settings

1. We all always wanted stereo on blockland,,,, but it: 1. does not support stereo, and 2. putting 2 bricks next to each other causes them to play at different times (example: 1 plays a second earlier than the other) and events wont help either,,, as if people leave its range,,, coming back to it reproduces the problem. SO,,,,,, MUSIC BRICK LINKING TO TEH RESCUUUUUU. If music bricks are linked (multiple bricks can be linked),,, then when 1 brick is playing,,,, all the others are too!

2. Music brick settings is exactly what it says it is. You can control volume (either in dB or percentage), disable/enable music fading effect (when you move away, volume gets lower), add filters/effects, music range, etc. This will REALLY help the game.

So Badspot can ya put it in the game?

1. Music is mono because the max filesize is 1mb, which is not that big, and no he will not raise that.
2. If you use the duplicator/duplorcator, you can make the music bricks play at the same time.

for 2. i alrdy explained why it wuld not work,,,,, once u leave the perimeter and come back,,, the problem comes back.

also no, it does not support stereo because there is only 1 brick, meaning 1 source,,,, but a stereo brick (2 brick wide) can be made.

I don't think the 2 brick wide stereo music brick would happen, but I can see the music brick linking and 2 separate music that is left and right, therefore making a stereo song.

Instead of linking, what if music always ran instead of starting anew when rewrenched?  So setting music to Ambient Deep, then 5 seconds later switching to Bass2, then 5 second later switching back to Ambient deep, such that it is now 10 seconds into the Ambient Deep loop.

And I have never found an issue with using events to control music.

Also, please learn to use punctuation correctly.  It was a stuffstorm trying to read it all right.

Music Brick Listing sounds pretty creative and seems like it would have have useful audio editing functions.

Not sure about how you would go about it though. (Eventing, RTB prefs, /commands, etc)

And as for music sync, i've never had a problem with using eventing for it.

Why not get loud music bricks or..  just have one music brick on if their that close in proximity?

So Badspot if you read this I would appreciate ur opinion.
