Author Topic: A replacement for the bot events?  (Read 923 times)

I used the bot events whenever I wanted to make an adventure type of game, and now I think that the element of other blockheads being there without actually being there is lost. I used them a lot. I don't quite remember the exact reason for the removal of the bot events, but I was wondering if it would allow a new set of bot events to be made. Ones, of course, that can't be abused in the way the previous ones were.

someone was working on a replacement but i don't know what even happened to that lol

maybe someone will decide to pick it up again.

Don't the bot events still work?

Maybe half of them. I stopped using them a while ago.
It doesn't appear in the add-ons list anymore.

How were the bot events abused? I was surprised to see it CDC banned.

Because they were crap-on'd but that doesn't mean you can't use it anymore.

yeah, you can use it, but if it's a public server with a large build then someone could give a bot a duplorcator and crash the server by making it duplicate the entire thing.
and that's bad.

Does anyone know to what extent it's broken?

To the extent that servers could be easily crashed due to them.
Also, quite a few things didn't work in the first place.
But,

Yeah, but using them isnt a good idea with an online server though...

Which is why I'd like to know what, if anything, is being done to create a replacement.

Judging by the "servers could be easily crashed" reason, VCE should also be CRCed. You can crash a player with two events..

Events should never be CRCed unless they break another default function. It's the hosts fault for having abuseable events enabled.

Apparently they had console errors or something..
