No, there's some story that goes around saying someone named Saint Nicholas went around a town he was in giving presents and gifts (Supplies, I guess) to everyone, i believe this story as well, and it's kinda fun to actually believe santa claus, to get into a bit of christmas spirit.
Fun-fact: Santa was actually in a green uniform until Coca-Cola came by and put him in red, or so I think.
