Realisticlly it's not even fair to compare Master Chief to Commander Shepard.
Master Chief is a severly enhanced super soldier with power armor while Commander Shepard is simply a very talented soldier.

Master Chief, he has been around for the longest and he is probably one of the early FPS genre boosters. The games are really nice and i just love throwing those sticky bombs at those pesky little grunts as him.
