Help connecting xbox 360 controller to pc.

So a couple of days ago i bought this http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top its a thing to connect your xbox 360 controller to your pc but for some reason it wont sync if anybody has any ideas and might need more information just tell me

Should i make a topic on how to use a Ps3 controller in place for a USB x-box controller? It works for everything.

PS3 controller layout is horrible, I don't see how anyone can use it

but then again that's coming from someone who's played xbox for ~3 years and not a lot of PS3

Well it's useful for people who have ps3's and are not willing to waste money on another controller.

it's really subjective
like, personally, the sticks are easy to get used to, but every time I play fallout on my sister's PS3 I get the fire and VATS buttons mixed up constantly and it's so annoying
