Author Topic: Has CGI in movies become better or worse?  (Read 2023 times)

Tell me something I don't know. CGI has made some interesting stuff in movies, but in cartoons and japananimation it is annoying. You'd get sick of it too if a show like MLP or Adventure Time lost visual consistancy in favor of less labor.

But CGI is getting really good, and it opens up many different opportunities.

I agree that CGI has gotten way better over the years but some things just don't look as good if it was instead done in real life. I prefer humans acting as orcs with lots of make-up on over CGI orcs any day. Humans still look and feel way more natural than the best CGI you can get.
Oh, i'm not denying that, there are occasions where actors are better than CGI, i'm just saying that CGI has gotten better

The only problem I have with this would be that orcs would move much different than a human and have a facial structure that you can't mimic on humans. You can simulate different bone structures and faces far better with CGI than with make-up.
