Sure they can
And they can watch as the ammount of income, boy scouts, support and graduating eagle scouts drops as everyone else across the entirety of the human race realizes that just because someone is gay, doesn't mean they necessarily want to forget you.
BSA relies heavily on donations, aside from popcorn sales and council-based fundraisers. While BSA really hasn't gotten any smaller, at the same time they are missing out on a fair ammount of scouts and extra income.
Also, and this is more of a question: would banning gays in a
public organization be discrimination? If so, why is it not discrimination in a
private group?
