The Cosmic Cube is a device of untold power capable of changing the very fabric of reality at the whim of its possessor. Righto, that's that.
Basically, I only just found out about this game.
My mother entered a competition or something to gain access to a Beta for it.
It starts tomorrow, Friday 19th and goes until Sunday 21st.
I'm installing it now to give it a go.

Perhaps anyone else has more info on this game, or has been following it's development, or even has entry into the beta?

It has it's own downloader for installing the game direct from the website.
I'm not sure if it's intended to be put on Steam or not. Although from what I can find through the community forums (available currently only to Beta Testers) there seems to be no plans for it to be on Steam.
But they may be in talks. Might just have to wait and see.

Unfortunately I never played xmen legends, so I can't comment on that.

It seems to be an RPG in a similar style to Diablo3, and other similar games.

Sadly I can't comment much on the gameplay, as I'm fresh and new to the game today, and have yet to play it.
But hopefully it should be pretty interesting.
There is a release date too. I'll edit this into the OP.

Jesus christ, it just means that you can pay to get later items immediately.  You can still get the same things if you work through game objectives.  This is what that statement means.

Yeah, Nickelob has got it right.

Apparantely all characters and items can be acquired as rewards and drops from enemies.

The purchase packs are for you to jump the scavenging part of the game and acquire these characters and items immediately.
There is no benefit to purchasing them (other than getting them quicker), and you are at no disadvantage if you want to acquire them by hand.
The game seems to be entirely Free To Play, with a couple extra purchases available at your leisure.

loving yes. I wish they would make a DC Universe type game, but with marvel. Unless that's what this is, I haven't looked into it much.

Sadly I was quite busy over the weekend (and it made me install the game twice, which took a while) so I actually only got a few hours on the Beta. (I'm a terrible beta-tester, lol).


I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed what I played though.
The gameplay mechanics are very reminiscent of Diablo 3 (and I presume Diablo 1/2, but I never played those).
The maps are quite large, and there's a large number of items in the game to collect and use.
A number of the ones I saw tended to be quite similar, but I was a low level.

They don't however effect the appearance of your character in any way. That simply changes with new character outfits which you can unlock through play or purchase, which are pretty nifty and are based on multiple costumes that the characters have appeared in over the years, in comic book storylines and movie adaptations.

Looking on the forums too, there seems to be some regular feedback and discussion on what new costumes to include, and the developers have been working to include them.
This atleast seems to be continuing on during it's Beta Development, but possibly even when the game goes live.


I personally think that I could consider playing the game once it is released, and would be thoroughly pleased to work alongside other Blocklanders on here.
Hopefully there shall be future Beta periods soon. So, keep an eye out on the website and whatnot to see if there are any chances to sign up for future inclusion.
