OKAY! So being 11th grade, everything that happens now is super serious business that affects my future life[/sarcasm], and
I have a dilemma.
So a bit of background information: My closest friend has had a pretty substantial crush on this girl for about a year and a half now; he already tried asking her out back in 10th grade, but she declined. A few months after that and I found myself developing feelings for her as well, but he still says he's crushing on her, not as severely, but it's still there. Now prom is coming up (my school is so small that they let juniors into prom as well as seniors, just because it would be pretty empty otherwise), and I would definitely like to ask this girl to prom, and future relations. Through signs/flirtation, I'd say there's a 90% chance she'd say yes (but I'm male so it's probably 70% real world) However, I really don't know how to bring this up to said friend. He has not expressed desire to ask her to prom, even though he tells me practically anything that he feels regarding her. I don't want to hurt him, but I really want to be with this female unit.
I've had the thought of getting together with the girl, and waiting to tell friend, but I've strayed away from that as it might hurt him even more, and feels like I'm betraying him in a way.
So basically the question is how do I talk to my friend that I want to ask out the girl he admires?
