No. The avatar represents who you are, and it should be easily recognizable (Eksi, IcyGamma,Mr.LoL). If you change your avatar, you're not recognizable anymore. I find it confusing. Even worse are people who change their ingame names...
Changing name is a problem yes, that part I can understand. But why do people give a stuff about avatar changes? Sure, they're easily recognizable, so what? Are you seriously considering defriending people for changing their avatar? Would you also say the same thing about someone who owns more than one pair of clothes? Badspot, and even I, and other people I know, change our avatars often. But I'm sure these people could care less about being your friend anyways.
