I doubt it has anything to do with the cable. Maybe the video card is overheating and shutting down, or maybe your power supply is failing/doesn't supply enough power to run your GPU?

Edit: What are your specs?

Why do you have six gigs of RAM if you only have a 32 bit OS?

I'm 15 turning 16 in July, Also I haven't changed a single thing.
And you didn't know what VGA is :/

Anyways, I don't quite know. I was suspecting a bad setting.

Don't look at me, My dad is the one who built it online.

You should upgrade to a 64-bit OS so you can take full use of your RAM. Anyway... You could maybe try using a different monitor? Or if you have any different HDMI cables then try one of those. Also get a longer VGA if possible and try that, too.

Your father has no clue how to build a rig.

6 gigs of RAM + 32 bit OS. Thats stupid. 32 bit OSs can only handle 4 Gigs of RAM.

you're only using 4 gigs.

There's people who don't know what VGA is!? :o
What's wrong?
It doesn't matter, vga is crap.
You don't need to know about useless or outdated computer stuff

I laughed because this is why I didn't know about it.
Also thank god I have 3 different HDMI cables.
I have once connected from my Xbox to the screen, One connected from my computer to the screen, And one left over just in-case of problems.

Modern display types use DisplayPort, HDMI, SVGA-DVI or other such higher resolution capability.
