Author Topic: Odd Glitch - Monitor Loses Signal  (Read 1154 times)

So recently I discovered something odd that happens to my monitor when playing games such as Blockland, Poker Night 2, Team Fortress 2, etc.
What happens is after about 5 minutes of me playing the game my monitor loses signal and doesn't get a signal back forcing me to reset my computer to re-gain this signal.
What I'm using is a VIZIO 42 inch flatscreen television. I had to use my TV for my monitor due to my other one getting screen burn.
Does anyone here know of a way for me to fix this from happening?

EDIT: I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'm using HDMI cable to connect them.

do you play in fullscreen or windowed?

Have you tried using VGA?

There's people who don't know what VGA is!? :o

What's VGA?
How young are you?!

On topic: have you changed anything on the computer recently?

My monitor does something odd as well, although it's LG
A lot of times when I turn on my computer the secondary monitor turns on fine, and so I can tell when the computer is completely booted, but my primary monitor never turns on. Although it's already technically turned on, I have to turn it off and then back on again for it to show anything

Well sorry that I didn't know the exact name of that. VGA works but the cable is slightly broken.
Thats why I'm using an HDMI cable instead now.
