weird youtube problem causes videos to restart abruptly

there's two variants of this problem:

1. it will just restart the video from 0:00

or

2. here's an example:

10 minute long video. i am on 7:43.
then it will abruptly end and the length of the video will change to 7:43 until i refresh.

does anybody else have this problem sometimes

That happens to me too.

Maybe it has to do with the auto quality feature changing the quality of your video to something better (or worse) and not remembering where you were in the video?

Sometimes the second thing happens when I pause a video, leave the tab and then come back later and play the video again
