If you would've just wanted something for gaming, you could've bought a TurtleBeach or Logitech or something. But since you want to listen to music as well, I highly recommend buying a good headphone and an external microphone, or a gaming headset by a trusted headphone brand (Sennheiser).
Depending on how much you want to spend, you can look into some Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG or some Grado cans. Take a look at the
Head-Fi forum, those guys are serious about their headphones and have helped alot of people in need of a gaming alternative. They are much better suited to answer your question than the BL forums.
