Author Topic: my gmod 13 is forgeted up  (Read 5749 times)

i am posting this because my gmod 13 is completely broken no matter even if a new "steam pipe" update is applied.
This is nothing to do with my PC as i can play all of my steam games perfectly.

lets start. today i added 1 addon into the addons folder, half life 2 episode 2 was downloading and i also downloaded a map by putting the BSP file into the "Maps" folder. when i started gmod all my addons downloaded like a slow piece of stuff. I had to restart the game a few times just for them to install. I started my single player game and noticed while the game was loading the "installizing user data" part was taking 5 minutes just for it to load. So it started, when i spawned a ragdoll from left 4 dead it took 10 minutes, what the hell? i thought the game crashed. it doesn't take this long. so it spawned, after this i spawned other ragdolls and it took 10 loving minutes just for them to spawn. this is ridiculous. Nearly everything i clicked took too much time to waste and its 10:08 PM here in England so thats just loving annoying. so then i spawned some npcs and it still took more time, this should not happen AT ALL. I clicked on the saves tab thing in the q menu it took some time. so then i went a head and spawned a zombie npc and guess what? I got a BSOD! what a waste of loving time.

Gmod 12 was never like this at all. Im starting to hate the new gmod 13 but i don't think i will be getting gmod 12 back. Theres a gmod 9 that requires half life 2 i think and i might be able to get that.

so whats the problem with the new gmod 13? for me its a complete broken mess.

oops wrong board. perhaps if i can move this to the games board

Sounds like your computer can't handle it. Try turning down some of the graphics settings.

If you can't handle Gmod 13 and want to go back down, get Garry's Mod 9 on Steam.

today i added 1 addon into the addons folder
The addons folder will only detect models with the aid of the Legacy Model Browser (and stuff from the Workshop, obviously), if they're weapons, NPCs, or whatever other kind of entity, they won't appear because there's nothing to allow them to appear

I think i have noticed a bit of a slowdown in load times for loading up single player maps, there still might be some polishing that needs to be done since this Steampipe update is still pretty new

Judging by some of the screenshots you've posted in the past, i'd say your computer has a rough time handling the game, my laptop can run the game rather well on full settings, but it takes forever to load up the maps, addons and the spawnmenu for the first time any time i start up the game

That shouldn't be, maybe try closing down some programs that aren't important or aren't being used by you or the system or something, i'm not a computer debugging expert, but your computer might be running out of processing power from all the loading, so it just has a BSOD

I suggest doing what GeneralSkar said and lower your graphical settings some more

TF2 stuff usually takes awhile for me to spawn if there's an update I haven't downloaded yet. You might try verifying the caches of all your source games and launching them to make sure they're fully up to date.

Lower all graphics to either Low, or keep them at where the * is.
If this doesn't work, try right-clicking the game in Steam, press Properties, then press Set Launch Options.
Type in -dxlevel 80
If you like fullscreen mode, that command will force start in fullscreen. To fix that, press space, then type -sw.
I read the topic, and maybe this will help the lag from that.
Oh yeah, bump.
