Changing the defualt light?

Exactly. Alright, I'll probably request something. Because you could probably set the files to read-only like brick textures but, I don't want to risk breaking blockland .-.

Not really. I'm pretty sure that's something that would be contained in the .dso files. There are scripts out there to change player lights, but I'm not sure if there's one to change the default one.

You could package the light function and just remake it?
