Author Topic: Motivation for builds?  (Read 676 times)

I never have the motivation to finish builds. I have like 5 unfinished builds (and a few adventure maps for Minecraft) that I didn't even come close to finishing. I can never bring myself to actually build anything, I just feel like it's so boring and tedious. For example, just today I started a DM where you have low health but go really fast and after about 5 minutes I just quit because I was overwhelmed and bored. Any tips?

step 1: make sure you have all night to stay awake
step 2: acquire caffeinated beverages.
step 3: find an inspirational soundtrack or song collab (lotr soundtrack, skyrim, epic inspiration mega music mix, anything)
step 4: build.

Lotr? Lord of the Rings
Alright, I'll try that.
It also might have to do with the fact that my builds are always ugly and never get joined lol
EDIT: Still didn't help. Losing focus really fast :c

Things that you really want to be proud of wont be done in one session, however, it would be nice if it was.
Try not to think of it that way, just ignore that. Thinking of it taking long kindof takes away motivation.

Tune out most other things. If something else happens that negatively, or even positively impacts you, you'll want to focus on it.

Also, what Pass said. That's what I do lol.

i just talk to someone on skype or listen to pandora.. but the only thing that will make me finish a build is if im satisfied with it. if i think that what im making isnt that great, i wont finish it (or just redo it)

My best tip: for fun, build because you want to not because you have to. I seriously find that you want to make a large build out of fun it shall just come out.

Also, build something you'd be proud of in the end. If you ever wanted to build something cool, but never got to it, try to set it as a goal to achieve.

Try to find your own special building "style" and stick with it throughout building the whole building.

Also, I try to reduce my spam with brick packs, and that also makes it harder for people to steal your build. (Well of course people will save it if they like it, but most of the build won't be loaded if they don't have the brick packs required.)

Or if you really don't care about spam. I just find it easier because you don't need to make the bricks invisible or use zone that can sometimes get quite annoying (if you wand it, everything floating goes = nope.avi.)
