Author Topic: Afraid to buy things  (Read 2827 times)

I have a pretty hard case of buyer's remorse.

Are you Jewish? I think being scared of making purchases is genetic in Jews.

I get it bad though, sometimes to the point of being physically ill when I receive the product in the mail.

As a note, part of the reason for getting a debit card is that if I don't actually see the money moving, maybe the effect will be lessened.

This is really interesting. I have heard of this money nervousness, but not people getting ill over it. Is there something affecting your psychological state?

Holy stuff its midnight and I had a sudden anxiety like attack and attempted to cancel the shipment.

it went through but man I have some loving problems to deal with.

I don't know how I developed such an awful problem. I used to be fine with ordering things.
what's your fear stemming out of regarding the order

you need new headphones, right?  so what's the problem?

My avatar used to be that burger hat guy! (But he was spinning around)!

I think that maybe I made a stuffty purchase once in the past or something and I just anticipate the worst.

I can't rationalize buying it or even take my mind off of it after I buy it. I tried watching a movie to forget about it but it didn't work.

My current headphones are pathetic now. The cups are wearing out (and might tear) and I'm using cotton balls to return all the lost fluff from them, and the cable is 11ft without coiling.

I make a lot of bad decisions on steam and spend waaaay too much money on it

shortly after the summer sale I couldn't buy things I needed irl. surely realizing that happened will slow me down by a lot

A lot of my gaming friends spent a couple hundred from the Steam Summer Sale, and nearly all somewhat regret buying half of the things they bought from the sale event. I had no money to spend during the sale though.
