Like, speeding up and speeding down. I'm either flying past my target like a bullet or I'm approaching it like molasses. I wish I could accelerate and decelerate with the mouse-wheel instead of changing acceleration.

space is big and stars are small, its hard as stuff to do that kind of stuff.
tip though, z slows you to a halt, not sure if it works on aircraft though.

All things considered, the 500MB download is extremely small for something like this.

That's cause everything is generated on the fly. If you spend a lot of time exploring, the folder will quickly get pretty large.

Look at the sky and rotate your mouse wheel forward to increase your velocity by a lot, You will quickly take off
