Author Topic: Sketch Shadows  (Read 2002 times)

Looking at the recent soft shadows, shadow mods are becoming more advanced with every mod, even if they are gpu choking.

Considering this, can someone please make the pencil sketch shadows from NPRQuake?

Port already is making a cel shadow shader, but a complete cel shader is impossible because we don't have access to the scene buffer or whatever you want to call it.

I would love to see a cel-shading style like Borderlands or Auto Modellista

These would look awesome. I wonder if wire frame shaders are possible to be made in blockland.

Ok it's not like we weren't allowed to make gpu intensive shaders before. Look at the dev topic, the first version was extremely complicated and looked super cool
The problem is that the hardware just isn't there for most people. You just can't use this sentence as your reasoning for why you want a certain type of shader

I don't think you can disable rendering of bricks with shaders.

If you could, that would be a really easy method of cheating.

I don't really mean disabling rendering, but rendered bricks with a wireframe included.

Oh. It could probably be done, but I don't know how GLSL works.

That would be awesome. But Badspot isn't awesome enough to do it.
