bump from the dead because i bought this game finally about 2-3 weeks ago and i cannot stop playing it
(yes Sparta is based in Athens now, long story involving Sparta's AI having no loving balls)
here i am taking my time with my military victory. i'm on the "intimidating" imperium level finally, 1st thru 6th companies are my gigantic 20-unit all purpose armies, 7th-9th are siege weaponry (4 heavy onagers + 4 giant ballista each), 10th-12th are entire companies of just auxiliary cavalry/socii equites for public order/enemy intercepting (and they kick ass too)
my current plan is to eliminate Budini to the north and eventually move into Suebia, Magna Germania and probably then take out Treverii and control the majority of France to hold basically all of North Europe (eventually incl. Britain too even later).
here's a pic post-battle between 11th co. horsemen and some other shmucks. the game gave me a 1-to-9 odds against me in autoresolve (lol) so i manually slaughtered/trampled them all and won with barely a scratch.
