Author Topic: Count of 1 to 10, how do my roads look like?  (Read 1045 times)

These are my roads... they are my first and I want constructive criticism please. I want to be a better builder and I'm new to the gallery section to the forums :). Please, don't post any negative posts... Here they are... (If you want me to post more pics of the roads feel free to post it on the topic page :D)

I like somewhat simple roads but those are still outstanding

You have the design down but these are way too small for any kind of driving. Typical Blockhead driving is pretty wild so you will definitely want to try and go for larger baseplate sizes, unless this is what you really want. It also helps to use 2x-4x stud scale for road markings as it makes the roads more symmetrical. Yet another thing that I've found of use is to build 'layers' of roads/baseplates in general. If you start with a baseplate, build the road on it, and then add the sidewalk as a plate on top, it can be an easy way to make a tiny bit of extra horizontal room that you can use for details of various sorts.

Okay, thank you for your tips. Actually I might make it a tad bit bigger, but since the cars are so out of control I would just make these roads for walking or for smaller cars (scooter, etc.).

What. How. those little white dots are smaller than 1x1's!

You should add a hows though

0/10 they're too small for cars to fit on.

6/10 Any compact planned city needs this roads. How about making it more round?

Well sorry :, p
yeah, seriously.
roads need to be at least 32x32 to even be plausible to drive on, and 48x48 is a good start.
