wait, why? the pledge of allegiance isn't a religious thing. there's only one part that mentions god and you can just not say that. but there's no reason to not participate in the rest as long as you're american
I don't say the pledge, I quit caring for it when I noticed how the country actually was.

But saying a prayer requires you to believe in a higher power.

Does it really? When I close my eyes and think "dear God thank you sooooo much for this food," what do you call that? I don't believe in a higher power, yet I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a prayer. I don't use "dear God" as a figure of speech, I'm literally addressing the Christian god when I pray.

If you didn't have the mentality of an angsty 13-year-old you'd probably realize that the entire world is really stuff, and the US isn't actually that bad.

Why would you thanks someone that you don't believe exists? That's a bit of an oxymoron.

That's not an oxymoron, an oxymoron is a phrase that contradicts itself, like dry water or flaming ice.

Well, I said "a bit of", implying that it wasn't really an oxymoron, but that's besides the point and you understand what I meant because it's self-contradictory to pray to a god and not believe in their existence or the-

forget it. This seems like a troll-thread anyway.
