Author Topic: My new idea for a game (lots of words) (also idea WIP)  (Read 370 times)

First of all, I'm no game maker, I actually do want to be one sometime, but I do have a few ideas for neat games, and this is one of them.

Name:
I have no idea on what to call it, at least not yet.

Type of game:
For this particular game idea, it will be a type of FPS arena shooter.

So how will this be different from other arena shooters?/Main game ideas
Alright, here's the long part. I might as well use sub-groups.
----Game modes:
Most of these are your dime-a-dozen standard gamemodes in most FPSs.
But, don't worry, there are plenty of mutators that I'll talk about later.
--DM
Deathmatch. This one is obvious, a free-for-all with no teams.
--TDM
Team Deathmatch. A DM, but with 2 teams.
Now obviously, more teams = less people per team.
--CTF
Capture-the-Flag. Get the enemy's flag, bring it back to your base. Standard stuff.
--KOTH
King of the Hill. Capture the control point in the middle of the map and it will start giving your team points.
--CONQUER
Basically your domination mode in Battlefield, 3 or 5 control points to capture around the map.
----Maps:
I don't really have any map ideas in particular, but I have some types of some.
--Small
Small maps, good for when you only have a small group of people to play with and want some fast gameplay.
MODES PROVIDED:
DM, TDM, KOTH
--Medium
Good normal sized maps, about the size of your average COD map.
MODES PROVIDED:
DM, TDM, KOTH, CTF
--Big
Big maps. Not as big as battlefield, but about big enough for 64 players to be around each other most of the time.

DM, TDM, CTF, CONQUER
----PLAYER RELATED THINGS:
--"CLASSES"
There won't be set classes like in TF2, but more of a customization class thing. You can have up to 5, you can pick any of them while in-game.
--PERKS
There are a good amount of perks, some that are small things, and others that change your player's strategy completely. You can have up to 5 perks, some can conflict with others. These aren't in any particular order. Some have downsides as well.

Soldier - Give more bullet damage to enemies, but take more explosive damage.
Explosions Expert - Basically the counter to soldier, give more explosive damage, but take more bullet damage.
Pyromaniac - With the flamethrower, it has a longer afterburn rate. But you slow down when using the flamethrower.
Self Damage Resistor - Reduces self damage, but a slightly smaller amount of damage to everyone else.
Quick Shoes - Faster movement speed, but a slightly larger amount of damage taken.


Sorry, my dad is kicking me off the only computer that is working atm, so I can't finish this quite yet. Sometime, though, I will.
When I get back I'll talk about the rest of the perks, weapons, and mutators.

I'll lock this for now so no one bashes me about "Wha? Classes? Perks? This is gonna turn into Call o Duty ain't it?" It really won't be. You'll see why.
