Author Topic: Close to getting a new laptop  (Read 962 times)

Well, I was originally going to get a computer for Christmas but plans have changed. My aunt is going through some difficult times, so now I have to stick to a 3DS XL. It kinda sucks since I was really excited for a computer.

Has anyone ever had a time like this where they thought something would turn out good but then turned into something you didn't want?

Dude, you're still getting a 3DS XL and you're complaining it sucks? Be happy you're getting something.

I can't complain. My grandma gives me a $1000 dollar check early for Christmas. I just hope I can get good grades for these finals otherwise I'm not sure my parents are going to be so happy and might not let me get it

Lol at you people getting super expensive gifts and complaining... I feel lucky that I'll most likely be getting even a ~$130 gift this year, a new monitor. That's more than my normal for a single Christmas....

Parents said they spent about $500 this trae for Christmas

I personally spent around $60

my parents always spend over like 1k in total for all 3 of us, me and my 2 siblings

I would love a computer all my own.  My parents just have things against it.

1) Don't like me having a computer in my room
2) Don't think I need a data plan
3) Too expensive (although I'd pay part of it...)
4) Overall don't need a computer all to myself

Reasons I think I need a computer?

1) I don't have to get around other people using the computer (free time, school, social activity)
2) I don't have to worry about what I'm installing (Steam, games, modeling programs, coding stuff, even Blockland, etc that seems to baffle my parents)
3) It will be of utmost helpfulness to have a computer when I leave for college/move out within the next couple years

But oh well.  Otherwise though, there aren't that many things I want for Christmas.

I get on average $30-40, sometimes $50.
