I remember playing it quite a long time ago, but I can only remember breif parts of it.
It's also one of my best memories in gaming ever..
So, it's basically a very old game with hardly any "good" texuring no matter what. I can remember some features like an island that you could travel on as this small robot and harvest metal, and then take it back to your aircraft carrier or something. There's also helicopters that you could position around the island that were used to protect it from enemy forces.
The way the little bot thing harvested metal was like it cast this huge cone-like red beam around the metal and it rotated around the object (metal) and after time it harvested it and you could move on.
Now, about the helicopters, I can remember one pilot of the helicopters being called Randsome or something, and when gearing up the helicopter it had a black gui with buttons that told you what you could equip on the helicopter, such as missles and stuff.
Sorry for the stuffty explaination, but its all I can remember of it. As I said, it was one of the best games I remember playing and would really appreciate it if someone could help.
p.s Sorry for the incorrect grammar but I kinda rushed this.
EDIT
The closest game ive found to it is Carrier command - 1988, but its not that one, the one im thinking of had 3d textures and terrain and stuff
