he mentions that the beginning of ep1, where alyx and dog are digging around in rubble and find you.
that the game makes it appear they have been looking for a couple days. and that is apparently bad implementation and writing (he admits), and that it was much longer.
to me, I assumed it picked up RIGHT where hl2 ended, like a couple HOURS later.
because what a crazy coinsidence that alyx had been searching for you for (weeks, months?)
to find you just in loving time to run back into the citadel before it blew itself up in those last moments.
