Author Topic: Blockland soon on Linux? (Steam Dev Days)  (Read 4033 times)

I don't think Rotondo was talking about Blockland. While TGE supported linux, the game engine has diverged significantly from stock TGE and porting to linux would be quite the undertaking. This message seems to be more of an expression of excitement than an announcement of Blockland coming to Linux.

i wanna know what steamboxes they ended up getting

All the developpers received a Gygabyte Steam Machine

Y'all Linux haters who wish Linux'd die had better be ready to give up your Androids, car GPSs, some industrial machinery (which, y'know, makes the stuff you buy), some of your favorite websites, and a crapload of other stuff. You guys seriously don't realize just how much stuff is based on the Linux OS. And I will never get why some people think that free = bad.

sudo apt-get install blocklandserver

still waiting but not seeing it happening.
steam boxes uses it doesn't mean a thing. steam box users will always be a rediculously huge minority. hey...that sounds like all Linux use XD

Your post is completely unrelated to what you quoted.

yes it does. he was in reply to the notion that Linux is somehow winning because its used in mainstream stuff.
but all that has shown is that Linux is being favored for mobile and periphreal electronics.

real home PC use its still and always will be a joke for a "free" os.

steam os brings absolutely nothing new to the table.
The thing about the SteamOS is it's going to have up to date graphic drivers made to play games.

I would absolutely love a steam machine

nah but blockland on linux would be amazing.

Except that things really do run faster on it. This is from personal experience.
