The reason your suppose to say hello when some one joins your server is so they have some one to talk to while downloading your forget ton of add-ons.

no matter what you do it seems like it'll piss someone off. Just do what you want - that way, if someone gets mad, at least you'll have had some fun.

I usually dont say hello to people who join my own servers as I'm usually afk or really busy building.

However that wont stop me from saying Hi back once I get an extra moment or break.

I don't say anything when I join, I usually go do something else while loading or get a drink.
When someone joins my server and they say hi I usually say hi back, its being polite. Something I think people should take into consideration.

If I say hello to someone and they do not reply I get really pissed off. If I see they're moving when they spawn and still haven't replied, I usually perma them.
