Author Topic: New Members Board - Introduce yourself!  (Read 507 times)

Most forums have one - Why don't you? I've been on many forums, and most of the ones I've been on have had a "newbies" section or an "introduce yourself" board.

But a number of the ones I've been to recently don't have that, so being a newbie, I feel alienated, and I don't really know where to start posting.

Also, I can't go without criticizing the fact that it took a while before I could start posting here to begin with - I am a Steam user, and I was disappointed by the fact that I couldn't post because of the bull-stuff reason that the site wasn't optimized for Steam users yet. Shouldn't you have gone and done that first thing as soon as you released Blockland on steam? I understand that it may take some time to set up, but not this much time!

But, I digress...

It would be nice to have a place to introduce myself so everyone knows who "BitzComms" is before I start posting for real.

That is all.

I support this idea, I love seeing new member posts, they're always so sweet and innocent then a month later the person is posting SMACKDOWN gifs and hanging out in the furry megathread.

Wow - This took quite a dark turn, didn't it?

I'm not so sure if a forum of this size really requires a separate board for new members.

Due to past bad experiences people who make introduction topics are viewed with suspicion, as those people usually have turned out to be alt accounts of previously banned users.

However, once the forum community grows much larger than it is at the moment, such board might not be that much of a bad idea.

Watch all the alts go into that section..
