Author Topic: Apparently one of my 4chan posts made it on to reddit...  (Read 1324 times)

Ha

I didn't even know what reddit was until mid-2013 lol

I'll occasionally browse Reddit but it's way convoluted for me to actually post there. I didn't know comment systems could get worse than YouTube.

Even if you personally believe that reddit as a whole is cancerous (i can see why you might think that about a few subreddits) reddit is great for finding people with similar interests as you. if you avoid the big default subreddits you should be fine.

The only "big default" subreddit I visit sometimes is r/gaming

It's not really about any specific subreddit, I don't care if there's one about furries, or bronies or whatever, they are allowed to do their thing and discuss it.

My gripe with it was mainly the site-wide mechanics, the fact that it's a site with way more rules and way more focused on building up a reputation (e.g. showing off your e-peen) than say, an imageboard. So coming from imageboards and even communities like this one where the rules are few and only the top few dozen people have reputations is a bit of a startling change.

why would you do that

i personally love /r/askreddit some of the questions are hilarious and often the responses are interesting

also /r/games is like infinitely better than /r/gaming js

I've never really understood how reddit works actually
I don't really plan on joining either

I did visit the 4chan thing.
And while some of the posts are funny and it does kinda find the gems for you, I couldn't help but notice that I was reading a lot of the same posts I read on 4chan the day before.

Intrestingly enough, I found one of my own posts on reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/4chan/comments/1idzah/ops_ass_mirror/

I actually just registered yesterday as well. I will never end up browsing much.
I'm basically just using it to gain some views on my Youtube channel.
My buddy told me it has sections dedicated to Urban Exploration for me to post my videos.

Publicity man.

what was the post dren?

Not sure if I linked it before, but /r/cringe has a nice collection of videos to grind your teeth at.
Apart from that, /r/todayIlearned is really the only other subreddit worth looking at.

Unsubscribe from all the cancerous default subs and join some that appeal to your interests and it's nice.

Obviously, this is the best subreddit.
