Author Topic: Shaders Not Working  (Read 1873 times)

Hello I have a mac and i am not able to play the game with shaders on. I have attached a picture of my console.

Thanks.

glCompileShader failed to work. This probably means your gpu is old or your drivers are outdated. How old is your computer?

Rather old. At least 5 years.

does your mac fall under the minimum requirements by any chance?

Your OpenGL version is 2.1, below the minimum requirements to run shaders which I believe is 3.1 or something.
You can try updating your graphics card drivers, but if that doesn't work your card probably is to old.

mine is too,my old computer (with a great graphics card) broke a long time ago on some other key (not going into detail with that e-e) and then when I found interiors and terrains were removed for shaders I thought i'd try blockland again to find that my graphics card on this computer is really crap and can only run minimum shaders, and lags anyway.I might look for a graphics card somewhere,I don't know what graphics card to use on a windows vista to possibly run maximum or high shaders
(anyone know?I don't want to get scammed off ebay, because when i ordered a decent graphics card, fergot which one, it was just a little piece of cardboard, but someone said it was a decent graphics card)

try a GTX 750, or go for the 760

Where can I find them, and how much? I don't want to get scammed off ebay because the last time i ordered a graphics card (it sounded decent) it was a piece of cardboard

Theres plenty of sites.
Newegg for one.
You can also get them from amazon I believe.

This is why I hate PC gaming
It costs 1,000
forget that shet
minimum 800 wow

I build my own PC for less than 900€ and it certainly is a beast.
On this site you can combine all parts and it tells you what is wrong with the combination and gives tips and stuff:

But if you are looking for just a graphics card, you have to know if you have PCI or PCIe slots.
PCI:
Club 3D Radeon HD5450 is pretty cheap

PCIe:
SAPPHIRE R7 240
XFX AMD Radeon R7 240 for 44.99£ or 76.5$

You don't have to put anything fancy in that thing.
If you want to go fancy, you need a whole new PC.
Otherwise it's like putting an air-intake on a 1966 Peel P50 car

But you should know that decent graphics cards are usually a big cost.
Like between 50$ and 100$

I chekced apples website and it said my graphics card (ATi Radeon 2600  Pro) supports 3.3 so I dont know whats up with that.

I easily surpass those requirements so thats not the problem.

And heres proof:

Then be sure your drivers are up-to-date.

I see Mac can't manually update the drivers (how stupid is that)

If they do then I don't know how.
But I do know that if your graphics card supports them and it doesn't work, they should be updated
