FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, a method of transferring files from a Server host to a Client host over Port 21 in a TCP based network. Often times the connection is secured with either TLS or SSL
It actually stands for "Faster Than Plight", as in speed/travel faster than the universal constant of difficulty/danger.
In the future we'll develop FTP travel and we'll be able to outrun all troubles.
