If you don't mind that it's not fully translated (fan-translation) and will probably take quite a bit of work setting up just to play it, Phantasy Star Online 2 is a brilliant free-to-play MMO.

You're gonna need a VPN but yeah PSO2 is pretty great

old games should be at least from 2004 and be fun even to people who are used to other titles.
just thought i'd quote for everyone.

Does Guild Wars 2 have goals set in place to prevent you from enjoying the actual game and pay money? I've heard it has a cash shop.
There is a cash shop, but the items available are almost entirely cosmetic

That's sort of what I meant by "probably take quite a bit of work setting up". Although the PSO2 Proxy works great and even adds some additional new features to the game for whoever uses it.

I'm sure I mentioned it in my previous post, but Vindictus is a pretty good F2P game, and I think the only things you buy with real items are cosmetic. It's different than most MMO's I've played, and i've played a few.

You can basically just search through steams free section, there's a ton of em on there. Defiance just went f2p too actually

Is Rift any good?
I'm playing Vindictus and I really like it. I have some kind of fascination with MMOs.
