Well, VCE has a last client message/team message variables, if you have enough knowledge then you COULD do it with events

i used to do this, but it gets unnecessarily clusterforgety and i don't think you'd even have enough room for it at one point

trust me i tried to make a phoenix wright-inspired investigation game on bl. it did not go well

Yea, script would be the best way to do this. Maybe some output event that starts the scan for a phrase, either completely or partially matching. (Selectable) Not sure how difficult it would be to experienced coders

I did this with animated faces and dialogue.  Only ever made a couple bots with this functionality because of the immense amount of events required just to animate.
