Author Topic: Advanced pack V1.7 beta testing needed  (Read 2264 times)

as the final update of the advanced pack comes around i need to make sure as many bugs and such are removed as possible, so im going to post a (mostly) completed pack with my work so far, and id like you to test it, multilayer, alone, with your best friend, with your dog, whatever you want to do, just make sure that if you find anything that is messed up, or annoying you post it here ASAP!

the one basic thing is i don't really want this to be used in projects or distributed very widely, for mostly obvious reasons.

here it is...

i will still be adding more features and such (feel free to suggest features u would like to see added) before the release, but id like to know about any issues with what i have first so they don't come around and bite me in the future.

PROBLEMS: CONFIRMED:
vignette not resetting from a death when scoped in or reloading whilst scoped.
vignette not changing back to the environment settings (i need the script for this).

PROBLEMS: NON-CONFIRMED:
picking up ammo dropped by players will not add any ammo to your weapons.

Hey zombiekillz, i noticed something VERY annoying.
Whenever i reload it always takes away a whole clip of ammo. Even when i only fired one round.

All guns can do that. ALL GUNS (i'm specifically talking about real life guns. Fire-a-bullet reload using an ENTIRELY new clip/mag/Ammo containment device)

You should be able to reuse the mag?

Well, it's strange indeed, but in a shootout with [Police, Swat, Military forces, Etc.] do you have time to pick back up your clip and put it away? Infact,ALMOST all games do this as well.

Not really, most FPS only reload the bullets you fired.
The only game I know where that happens is in ArmA

I might make an option to disable that, thanks for the input  :cookie:

Hold 2 mags at once.
Oh, and can you make it so we start with ammo?

What? Is art supposed to imitate the annoying parts of life too?

It's not fun to have the bullets simply dissapear out of thin air. An ammo counter in a video game should show how many shots you have. Not how many shots you might have in a best case scenario.

And what if I'm not in a combat situation? I will still have to dump out my entire clip even though I'm just out shooting deer.

Right, option for an alternative reload, duly noted.

we should however focus on finding all the evasive little bugs in the pack too, really abuse them, equip unequip reload and fire all at the same time, spam the mods on to other items and weapons... Really try your hardest to completely break my weapons...

It'd be interesting to have the normal reload that drops the clip and loads in a new one tied to one key, and one that takes a lot longer to reload, but stores your bullets/clip for re-use tied to another. That way both options are there, and it would make sense.

i could do the separate keybind thing, but i cant make the reloads take different amounts of time unless i created a new reload image for every weapon (and all of its mods) so I'm not sure about that one...
