Author Topic: [VIDEO] Ambient Lighting Method Taught by Jam Jar  (Read 2334 times)

I'm assuming this is the method of using invisible but rendered bricks to light the area and have flare only lights to simulate that the light is actually coming from the brick with the flare while it's really emitted from the invisible but rendered brick. It just hasn't been used much in many things, but I'll likely use it in stuff I make in the future.

Oh, this workaround.

..Ive already been using this...
How annoying, I thought you found some kick ass technique on how to have the lighting be less stupid.

This is what I thought as well.

Wait, "new method?" This is just area lighting, people weren't already doing this?
Frankly it's rather misleading that this is just something mundane that has already been in use for ages.

Ok fine jesus I'll remove the New from the title I thought you guys didn't know about this trick

Also change "by Jam Jar" to "Taught to me by Jam Jar" since he was not the first to use this.

Yes please
I just used the method and people never really asked about it ;-;

I show'd Mr.LoL > Filipe saw Mr.LoL do it > Mr.LoL said I show'd him > This topic

How the hell do you do this anyway? It's pissing me off that everyone is talking about it and no one is actually explaining on how to do it.

Is it not obvious? Instead of putting the light on the light source brick, put it where the light should be shining. And to make it look like it's coming from the source brick, add glow and a light flare to it.
