Author Topic: Getting smoother shading when rendering in SFM?  (Read 1683 times)

I want to make a few posters in SFM, but I've noticed that whenever I render one, the shading is really grainy.
Examples:

Is there any way to make the shadows smoother?

i personally like that shading, that looks pretty rad

also fidget

Make sure you have an animation set for a camera and that the camera is set as the viewport when you're going to render, once you've got your camera set up, right click the viewport and open the progressive refinement window and set the samples for the motion blur and depth of field

256 is good for minimum quality but fastest render time

Looks like bad sampling on the ambient occlusion, I don't know how you do it within the context of SFM but you want to raise that.
