Author Topic: The Saints of Endoa – (Ebola is not a joke so please stop treating it that way.)  (Read 5772 times)

somehow francesco's business boomed, and now gregori is out to kill him

gregori hired mercenaries to assassinate him and they succeeded, while also making it look like an accident

the only reason i'm doing this is because i haven't been active recently on here and i really havent thought of anything to say so my character is died

Aww what a shame.  :panda:

Maria seems to be incapacitated by grief, so Marco quickly picks her up and slings her over his left shoulder.  By this time, Maria goes into hysterics, crying, "NO!  NO!  LET ME DIE WITH HIM!  PLEASE!  JUST LET ME DIE!"

Marco carefully climbs down the stairs and looks across the kitchen, now in flames, and at the exit on the other side.  Welp.  Just gonna rush it.  Marco shifts Maria on his shoulder.

"Gonna run it.  Hold tight."

Marco rushes forward, will unbroken as the flames lap at his body and face.  As they reach the end, they fall into the street outside.  Marco checks himself.  Arms?  Good.  Legs?  Good.  Body?  Head?  Check.  We're not on fire.  Maria seems to be fine as well, despite the fact that she just saw her dead father and besides crying, is coughing because of the smoke.

Marco looks down both sides of the street to see fire ravaging the buildings in all directions.  And added onto that, two Capitol Guards closing in from a distance, swords drawn.

I begin to heavily fight capitol guards in the slum's fountain square. "Run! Get out of the city!" I constantly keep screaming at the poor people praying and trying to repent, but still being struck down by capitol guards.
Ryaine, in shouting, catches attention of a Capitol guard, who fires his crossbow in attempt to kill him.  The bolt grazes a centimeter into Ryaine's left thigh.  Seeing that he had not shot at a critical point, the soldier begins calling for reinforcements to corner him.  Ryaine will have to act fast and get bandaged up soon.

Ryaine throws down a smoke bomb and flees into an alleyway back towards his house, which probably only has his cellar left, with only a short lead.

"forget. forget." He says, tearing part of his sleeve off and then putting it next to the wound, therefore making him run akwardly.

Ryan travels through East Ardes at a flying pace, gripping his bag a little tighter. He avoids eye contact with everyone, even the brothel girls he often gawked at. He had a message to deliver and he was already late.

"Move, c'mon people. loving hell."

He stops short as he encounters a street brawl. The crowd, yelling and cheering felt more like one organism instead of many. Ryan quickly makes a decision, and backpedals into an alley way, hoping over trash and beggars like they're hurdles.

"Mr.Madeli is going to have my head on a platter at this rate."

As he continued running the scenery began to change. Slowly the houses became shops, and streets seemed to fill with more and more people. Soon enough he was in the Square. He burst into the fish shop, startling various costumers.
"I'm telling you Maria the boy ran off with the money!"
"Samuel please! He's probably just runnin- There he is see!"

Ryan leans on the counter doubled over, gasping for breath. He reaches out, handing Mr.Madeli a simple white box, still sealed.
"I've got... I've got you're package Mr.- Mr.Madeli!"

The towering man takes the box from the boy, and he opens it, genuinely surprised to hear the rustle of coins inside. He slowly counts each coin, ensuring it's all there.
"Next time you're late I'm cutting your pay in half."

He hands the boy a small handful of coins, giving him a stern look.
"Understood Mr.Madeli. Thank you."

He places the coins in his purse, and sets off to deliver his next package.

Aedan sighs, looking to Lenart, "Welp, no sense wasting our time," he says as he begins to pluck pieces of straw from the straw beds, measuring them so that most are about equal length.  He fiddles with them for a while, tying all sorts of knots, breaking a few pieces and clenching his fist in frustration, he seems entirely focused on his work.  What could he be doing?

Hours pass, the building grew dim as night fell and torches flickered on the walls.  A man entered the room in which the cell was kept, and spoke to the two.  "Tomorrow morning, you two are to be taken to the capitol to be placed in prison," he said, and without another word or a chance for anyone to respond, he left.  What a great first day in Endoa, Aedan thought to himself.

Sorry that this is late.

Lenart offers a glance to Aedan as he speaks, opening his mouth slightly to protest before he purses his lips and nods. Lenart is simply minding his own business, while offering glances here and there around the cell with a brooding look as he flicks his index finger against the floor now and then, watching his surroundings and Aedan in a focused manner. He blinks, looking over towards the man that enters, listening him as he spouts out his decree, before watching him walk off. "Well forget." Lenart says, with a furrow of his brows, before he leans back and relaxes.

Marco has seen enough to know that these soldiers are doing nothing more than massacring all of Faranno's civilians.  Marco has no choice but to fight for his own life.

He sets Maria and his supplies down on the ground and holds his sword up.  The soldiers on horseback approach, and a soldier and Marco cross swords, resulting in a small shower of sparks.

The second soldier attempts to trample Marco with his horse, but Marco dives out of the way.  Marco then sees the first soldier charging him again, this time, he quickly sidesteps to the other side and slashes at the oncoming horse's leg, causing it to tumble, and as a result, throw the rider several feet into a burning food stand.  He would have rather left the horse unharmed.  The second soldier once again charges, with his sword in front of him.  Marco picks up a stone and throws it at the soldier's face, causing him to also tumble off the horse, while Marco sidesteps, letting the horse run and escape.

Marco then looks at Maria, who is unharmed, picks her up, along with his supplies and carries her over his shoulder, and runs northward.

Blablabla time skip stuff since no one's posting.

Maria is now walking, still sad about her father.  A mixture of smoke and in icy rain now fill the air.  Maria and Marco are on their way to South Imperius.  Walking with them are several others who were also caught up in the disaster.  Thousands of the displaced.

All of Faranno save for the north end has been burnt down.  As Marco walks with Maria, the crowds get thicker.  Marco catches a glimpse of capitol soldiers directing the displaced citizens along the main road, and not allowing anyone to pass to the sides.

Eventually, the large crowd is gathered at the Northern Square.  It's early morning and everyone is tired.  Some without proper clothing are severely cold, others who suffered burns or wounds cry out, for if they stop moving, they will be trampled by the crowd.  Those who inhaled too much smoke cough with great wheezes in their voices.

Up ahead, the bridge spanning the river dividing Faranno and South Imperius is blocked by the Capitol Guard.
